By adding a device, connecting it to the Manager, downloading the Check-in App, and adjusting a few quick settings, you’ll create a smooth and reliable check-in and check-out process for all users.

Summary

  1. In the Manager, go to Configuration → Devices and click Add device.

  2. Follow the link to the correct app in the App Store and download the Check-in App.

ℹ️ Please note: this app is designed for iPads.

  3. In the Check-in App, open Settings.

  4. Scan the QR code displayed in the Manager (from step 2).

  5. Complete the additional information in the Manager.

Step-by-Step

Step 1: Add your device

  1. In your NineID dashboard, go to Configuration → Devices (left-hand menu)

On the right-hand side, click + ADD DEVICE.

  2. A pop-up window will appear with a QR code — keep this visible, as you’ll need to scan it from your device in the next step.

Step 2: Download the Check-in App

  • In the dialog box, follow the link under Download on the App Store.

  • This will direct you to the correct application.

  • Install the Check-in App on your tablet.

Step 3: Open the Check-in App settings

  1. On your device, open the NineID Entr app and select Configuration.

  2. Tap the scanner icon at the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Scan the QR code generated in Step 1.

  4. Once scanned, the name of your NineID platform will appear under “NineID Host.”

Step 4: Complete device configuration in the Manager

  • If the QR code scan is successful, the Check-in App will automatically fill in the device details.

  • In the Manager, the following tabs will appear for final configuration:

General Configuration Settings

  • Welcome Text
The text displayed under the company logo in check-in mode.

  • Printer URL (IPP)
If you wish to print badges upon check-in, enter the printer’s IP address in the following format:
    ipp://111.111.111.111/ipp/print

⚠️ Make sure the tablet and the printer are connected to the same network.

Registration Settings

  • Only Registration
Enable this option to allow only ad-hoc registrations through the tablet. This prevents users from scanning a QR code from a pre-registration.

  • Only Allow
Select whether the tablet should be used for:

    • Check-in

    • Check-out

    • Both (default if no option is selected)

  • Registration Roles Available
Choose which roles users can register for on the tablet in an ad-hoc manner.

  • Registration Event Type
Specify which event type will be created when users register ad-hoc.

⚠️ Only one event type can be associated with ad-hoc registrations. Even if multiple roles are available, the event created will be the same for all.

Branding Settings

  • Custom Branding
Enable this option to unlock basic customisation settings for the app’s branding.

Note: Each zone can only be linked to a single device.
