Getting Started with Your NineID Pass (QR Code)
Accessing a site with NineID is a simple two-step process:
Accept your digital invitation and complete the required tasks.
Use your personalised NineID QR code to check in on-site.
1. Your Invitation - Choosing How to Complete Your Tasks
At this stage, you can decide to continue via the online portal or the mobile application.
⚠️ Important: You can start in the portal and later switch to the app, but once you set up the app, you cannot return to the portal. If needed, you must ask your administrator for a new invite.
Option A – Online Portal
You will be directed to the list of tasks to complete (e.g., training, document upload).
Once all tasks are finished, a QR code will be generated.
This QR code can be used at tablets with the NineID check-app or at NineID readers (XS1M/XS1D).
Option B – Mobile Application
Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
On first use, you’ll be asked:
To agree to NineID’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
To grant Bluetooth/Camera access.
Enter your magic code from the original invitation email.
Complete all assigned tasks directly in the app.
Once finished, your QR code will appear in the app and can be used at tablets with the NineID check-app or at NineID readers (XS1M/XS1D).
2. Using Your NineID QR Code
After completing the tasks (either via portal or app):
Your NineID QR code is generated and ready to use.
You can scan your QR code directly from:
The email received after completion, or
The NineID mobile app.
Depending on site security protocols, additional on-site steps may apply.
✅ With these steps completed, you’re ready to check in smoothly using your NineID Pass.
💡 Tips
If you have Bluetooth enabled, you can also use this functionality to check in more smoothly.
For QR code scanning: hold your phone about 30 cm to 1 m from the reader for the best results.
For Bluetooth access: keep your phone close to the reader.
